How do you use telemarketing for promoting and selling a product?
Telemarketing is one of my favorite ways to reach out to customers. Also known as cold calling, outbound telemarketing, and telesales, etc. – it is an exciting form of sales because it’s very blunt and very direct. It could be a miss or a hit. Be it anything, it definitely builds sales experience.
Here are a few tips for anyone on how to sell and promote a product through cold calling.
Before I proceed further, I would like to make it clear that I will not get into too much details. A lot of these things, I could say a lot about, but each one is a pretty broad topic. So just look up or ask me, if you want, about any of these that stand out to you.
Here are nine tips:
#1 Stay confident.
#2 Modulate your pitch while in a conversation and maintain a natural tone. Do not move your voice pitch or volume too much, though. Don’t be too exciteable.
#3 Be a good listener.
#4 Try not to make assumptions, be practical.
#5 Try tactics to keep the conversation interesting.
#6 It’s good to get personal, but have boundaries.
#7 Be ready for objections from customers. To know about 5 common objections from customers and their solutions, you can read my article “5 Deep-Seated Customer Doubts That Kill Your Sales (And How to Erase Them)” on my website through the link in my profile.
#8 Try to build a rapport and aim for long-term relationships.
#9 Identify and present the USP of your product.
By following the above strategies and smartly pitching and promoting the products, I used to get pleasant results from telemarketing.
Hope these tips work for you as well 🙂
Good Luck!
Thanks,
Cleo
