I am not happy with my job profile. Should I quit?

This situation is happening with a lot more people nowadays. I believe that when a person stays in a place despite not being happy with it, he feels a kind of suffocation and restlessness. Let’s discuss more.

Before you decide to quit your job, I would suggest you consider the following points, and see how many are true:

#1 Your present job profile doesn’t meet your skills.

#2 You can work in the same job profile but in a different organization.

#3 You do not find your present job profile secure for the future.

#4 You want to do something else.

#5 You have better job options.

#6 You are mentally and financially prepared if you do not get a new job in the field for which you want to work.

#7 You desperately want to quit, above all other feelings toward the job.

For the above points, if your response to most is Yes, then you should quit. Else, look for the solutions to your problems while staying in the present job. Whatever your decision, you should work upon what I call 3S. Those 3S are helpful for anyone who has quit a job, planning to quit, or believes in strengthening the professional profile and securing the future.

Being an online career guide, I have made a post to help anyone who is in a type of situation as of yours. My post: I’m Ready to Quit My Job YESTERDAY, How Do I Do It? covers those 3S.

In conclusion, one must think carefully before quitting a job as getting another is not easy in the present times. But don’t use that as an excuse to stay in an unproductive, dead=end situation.

Please feel free to reply to me if you need any clarification.

Good Luck!

Thanks,

Cleo
